Samsung announced its new mid-range phone this Thursday (17). Starting with the Galaxy A53 5G, the smartphone is already on sale in Brazil at a promotional price with a promised update to Android 16. Galaxy A53 5G with quad 64MP cameras
The Galaxy A53 5G has four sets of photos. The 64-megapixel main camera is joined by another 12-megapixel sensor, this time with an ultra-wide-angle lens. Grouping is done with another two 5 megapixels, one for depth of field capture and one for macro.
The 6.5-inch screen has Full HD+ resolution. In addition, the Super AMOLED panel is attracting attention for its 120 Hz refresh rate, a feature that can please those who like to play games on their cell phone. The 32-megapixel front camera sits in a hole in the screen.
The mid-range datasheet is dominated by octa-core processors up to 2 GHz. In Brazil, the phone comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, expandable with a microSD card up to 1TB. The launch also brings a 5,000 mAh battery with 25 watt charging.

Galaxy A33 5G has a full HD+ resolution screen
Samsung brings an increment to the Galaxy A33 5G panel. Unlike the Galaxy A32 5G, which has a TFT screen with HD+ resolution, this launch features a 6.4-inch display with Super AMOLED technology and Full HD+ resolution. The screen still has a 90 Hz refresh rate and a waterdrop notch.
The 48-megapixel main camera is joined by another 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens. In addition, the smartphone has two components, one with 5 megapixels for macro and the other with 2 megapixels for depth of field capture.
Internally, the launch brings an octa-core processor up to 2.4 GHz. In addition, the Brazilian version of the smartphone has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of space, which can also be expanded with a microSD card up to 1 TB. The battery repeats the same capacity and charging power as the Galaxy A53 5G.
The Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy A33 5G are also IP67 certified and Android 12 (One UI 4.1) certified out of the box.
Galaxy A73 5G officially announced quietly
Samsung also took the opportunity to show the Galaxy A73 5G. The company has cautiously announced that the phone will be available in “selected markets” starting April 22. However, the list of countries where smartphones can be used remains a mystery.
The launch is very similar to the Galaxy A53 5G. In addition to the look, the smartphone has a quad camera of 108 megapixels with the same resolution as the other sensors. The front camera for selfies and video calls is 32 MP.
The 120 Hz screen is slightly larger at 6.7 inches, but repeats the Full HD+ resolution. The datasheet cites an octa-core processor up to 2.4 GHz, and also does not reveal the model number, up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of space. The battery has the specifications of the other models: 5,000 mAh, rechargeable up to 25 W.
Pricing and availability
According to Samsung, the Galaxy A33 5G will be available in Brazil on April 19. The company also informed Tecnoblog that the Galaxy A53 5G will be on sale this Thursday (17) with a promotional price of R$ 2,699 until May 8, 2022. After that, the cell phone will follow the suggested price: 3,499 reais.
