Motorola Frontier will have camera with two protrusions for 194 MP sensor

Motorola wants to go beyond the conventional when it comes to photography. At least, that’s what a leaked image of the expected Motorola Frontier shows: the phone will hit stores with a huge 194-megapixel camera that occupies a two-story bump on the back. That’s right: two reliefs to house a single sensor.

The publicity images were revealed ahead of time by Evan Blass on Tuesday (15). In addition to the bump on the module to house the triple photographic set, the main camera has one more bulge. The relief is best seen when looking at the smartphone from the bottom, giving the impression that it will be difficult to keep it stable on a table without the help of a case, for example.

The size of the main camera is another factor that draws the spotlight. The component is also large in diameter, a feature reminiscent of the Sharp Aquos R6, a Japanese cell phone with a 20-megapixel photo sensor that measures exactly 1 inch. Meanwhile, the Motorola Frontier should hit stores with a 1/1.5-inch, 194-megapixel sensor
